DIY Skirt to Shorts

Iced Coffee Popsicles

Hello everyone! We are so close to summer, I can basically taste it. You can taste it too when you have your very own coffee popsicles so you don't have to swallow any more piping hot beverages in the summer while trying to satisfy your coffee cravings. The good thing about these is that they're totally customizable to fit your taste. Now I'm not a huge coffee person, but I know quite a few people who can't live without it, so I thought I'd share this recipe with you. How to Make a Camera Strap From a Scarf

Hello readers! This spring and summer, I'm sure you'll all want to find your place in the photography fad like every other teenage girl in this lovely planet called earth. I highly recommend trying your eye for capturing the best snapshots of nature, people, or whatever else makes your heart beat. When you go out for your shoots, do it in style with this camera strap from a scarf. Here's how you can make your own!

Supplies: scarf, 2 split rings, 2 chain closures, scissors, sewing machine OR needle/thread, scrap of leather, pen

Step 1: Draw your shape on the leather with a pen making sure the smallest point at the fold fits through the split ring. You'll be folding it over, so mirror one side to the other and trace it. 

Step 2: Cut the leather on the folded line.

Step 3: Repeat to create two of these leather pieces.

Step 4: Connect the chain closure to the split ring.

Step 5: Slide the ring to the middle section of the leather.
Step 6: Fold the end of the scarf in an accordion fold, small enough so that it fits into the leather.
Step 7: Stick the leather to the scarf in place.
Step 8: With your sewing machine, stitch around the edge of the leather (as indicated in the picture)
Make sure you have a special needle that works for leather. Otherwise, hand stitch it.

S'mores Croissants Recipe

Hello! I'm sure you're all craving the foods of summer by now. Can't you just taste the strawberry pies, burgers on the grill, and... S'mores over the fire? Mmmm. S'mores just scream "SUMMER NIGHT AROUND THE CAMPFIRE" but now you can enjoy them inside your house any time with this recipe.

Actually, I couldn't find the recipe, only the picture, however this is simple enough that you guys could figure it out. I tried this a few weeks ago, and it was pretty good, so give this a try!

What you will need:

• Pillsbury Croissant Rolls  
• Chocolate chips
• Little marshmallows

Instructions:

• Open the package of rolls and spread them out on a cookie sheet
• Place a few chocolate chips and marshmallows on the rolls and roll the croissants as instructed on the package 
• Bake according to the time and temperature listed on the croissant package

Reverse French Braided Bun Tutorial

Hair can be the most difficult thing to get right. Each person has a different style and not every hair-do looks good on everyone, so things can get a little sticky when you're trying to figure out the perfect way to dress your up hair. This is something I think looks great on everyone. It's perfect for a day at school, a shopping day, or even a date with a special someone *wink wink*. Without further ado, here is the reverse French braided bun.

1. Flip your head upside down and brush your hair to smooth out any cowlicks.

2. Take a two-inch section from near the nape of your neck and separate into three pieces.

3. Begin French braiding, working from the bottom up rather than the reverse. It might take a few tries, but you'll be able to feel if the braid is coming out straight without looking in the mirror!

4. Once your braid reaches the crown of your head, smooth the rest up into a high ponytail.

5. Twist the pony around itself to form a ballerina bun and pin in place.

6. An oversized bow clip is totally optional, but it helps hide any bumps at the top of your braid—plus, it just looks adorable!

Guest Post: Annanya with Kheer Recipe

Hey everyone!
I'm Annanya and I'm from India. I love reading,  writing,  listening to Taylor Swift and One Direction and most of all making new friends!  So, I'd like to thank July and Seana for letting me do a guest post on their blog - "The Creative Clique" which is just as creative as it's name states. (:

So, here's the recipe of making "kheer", that is an Indian dessert,  and is easy to make (when compared to other desserts :P)

Ingredients- rice, milk, sugar and dry fruits (not compulsory)

1. Make steamed rice. (If you don't know how- take half a bowl of raw rice, and cook it with twice quantity of water that will be 1 bowl)

2. Take the rice and heat it with 500ml milk on low flame for 10-15 minutes.

3. Add half bowl of sugar, while stirring. (Less quantity if you prefer it that way) keep stirring for 5 minutes.

4. Crush the dry fruits, preferably cashews and almonds and garnish the kheer with them! (:

The *Perfect* Smoothie

Let's face it. If you're anything like me, it's nearly impossible to get your smoothie how you want it no matter what you try. You blend and blend, but it's either too thick, too thin, has too much flavor, or sometimes, not enough flavor! So there it sits, half drunk, your good, healthy intentions ruined.
It's also possible that you have never experienced any of this and your smoothie comes out perfect every time. If that sounds like you, pay no attention to this, but if you can relate to my sob story, then this is definitely the post for you.

**The fifth step is completely optional! If you don't have any of those things lying around your house, don't freak out. You can skip it, although it does make your smoothie healthier!

Hey everyone, I'm Destiny Skye! First of all, thanks to Seana and July for letting me guest post. I'm a sarcastic, homeschooled teenager who lives somewhere in the Northern Hemisphere. I love Jesus, books, music, chocolate and Doctor Who (yes, in that order).

Also, I'm obsessed with getting my hair curly/wavy without heat or hair products. My hair isn't too long, about to my upper back and I have a bit of trouble getting it wavy. I found this video in one of my endless searches and here's the tutorial. The pictures are mine and the video I found online.

Super Easy DIY Hi-lo Skirt

Hola (hello)! Buenas dias (good day). It's July! I've had a poll up on this blog for a while asking what you want to see more of, and if you haven't voted on that yet, please do!
Anyway, since food posts aren't very popular, I think I'll start doing more DIY type of stuff. Here's a cute, yet insanely easy skirt that YOU can make all by yourself!

I think this is absolutely adorable and chic. If you have a long skirt that's just not in anymore, create yourself one of these and it'll be wearable again! Or if you don't, I'm sure you can easily find some at thrift shops. 

I want to try this for summer. :)

Bad Seana!

Um..yeah. Kinda forgot to post. o_o Sad, isn't it? Well, now I am posting. Huzzah.

You will need:

Step one:

Take the back off of your photo frame (carefully!) and place your wrapping paper/material into the photo frame. Either cut around the edges of the material so that it fits into the photo frame, or draw around it first. I found drawing around it first was easier, though this means you may have to trim the edges a little, to get a good fit.

Step two:

Once your material fits nicely into the photo frame, take it out, and either using your magazine/newspaper, or the left over material/paper, begin drawing and cutting out your letters. I used the leftover paper, as it was a brown colour on the opposite side, and it was fairly thick.

Step three:

Once you have cut out all of your letters, begin arranging them on your material/paper. When your sure that you like your arrangement, stick them down. I used a glue stick to save time, but, if your paper/material is fairly thick, PVA would probably work just as well.

Step four:

Add any extra features or embellishements to your inspiration poster if you wish, and place it in the photo frame, making sure you have no ripples when you place on the back. Secure, and display.

Step five:

Yay you! You've made your first inspiration poster. Let it take pride of place on your wall, shelf, or even door, and if you don't have a photo frame handy, simply hang or stick it somewhere instead.

Beautiful Vases

Hey everybody! It's July and I know that I've been really bad about posting, but I'll try to stick to my schedule now. If I miss a couple, don't freak out because I've been having a super busy summer and I don't exactly have a computer to post from. Anyway, here are some very simple gorgeous, professional vases that you can make!

What you'll need:
A glass vase
Rubber bands of various sizes
Craft spray that "etches" the glass

What you'll do:

1. Wrap the rubber bands around the glass where you want the stripes

2. Spray with the craft spray

3. Allow the spray to dry then take the rubber bands off

4. Go out to your flower garden, pick some flowers, and enjoy!

These are beautiful vases that could work for everything from Mother's Day gifts to the decorations of that party you're having!
Have fun and just a hint, don't drop the glass, not a good idea...

Ice Cream Cone Necklace

Now, before you worry that it's REAL ice cream, it's not. (: Just a craft in the shape of one, so don't fret! (A real one would get a tad drippy during summer's heat....) So this is a really cute craft to make, and it can also be a birthday gift idea for younger kids.

What you need:

Brown cardstock paper, craft glue, gold sparkles, round beads in pastel colors, small round red bead (optional), flat head pins, needle-nose pliers, string, extra beads (optional)

What you do:

1. Cut out a 1.5 inch circle from the brown cardstock. Make a slice halfway to the middle point, like this:

2. Starting at the cut, wrap the circle around to make a cone. Glue it as you do this.

3. Trim the top of the cone. Make a swirl of glue around the cone and dip the cone in gold sparkles, if you like.

4. Stick your flat-head pin through the base of the cone (the flat part should be at     the tip of the cone). Stick one or two beads on top of it.

5.Use the needle-nose pliers to make a loop at the top of the flat-head pin (you can get a grown up to help with this).

6.Put the ice cream cone on a piece of string and add extra beads, if you like.

7.Tie the two ends of the string together and slip the necklace over your head. Now you’re really ready for summer!

Mockingjay Pin

Hey this is July! This is how to make your own Mockingjay Pin!

What You Need:

 Polymer Clay (gold or white)

 Gold paint (if you’re using white clay)

 Crafting Wire

 Wire cutters

 Pin and pin back

 Cutters

 Super Glue

 Air Dry glaze

 Polymer clay tools

 Paintbrush

Steps: 1. Bend the craft wire into three separate shapes for the mockingjay, arrow, and the ring that goes around. We’ll call this our ‘armature’ from now on. 

2. Cut two circles out of the clay that is big enough to cover the ring armature. One circle goes on

the back while the other on the front. When you put the two together over the ring armature you may have to gently smooth the edges inside and outside of the ring to give it a uniform look. Set it aside for now.

3. Now it’s time to work on the mockingjay. You’ll have the build up the clay around the mockingjay armature in steps. I did the body and the head first. Use some clay around the armature and use your fingers to shape and smooth out any imperfections. The tail and wings followed afterwards. To give the effect of feathers, use a tool to put in the impressions of the wings, as well as the eyes.

4. Now you’ll have the put the arrow armature into the beak of the mockingjay. Put some clay around the arrow armature. This can be difficult because of it being attached to the mockingjay. Do what you need to make it work for you. The tip and feathers on the end of the bow were added afterwards.

5. Now put the mockingjay and arrow in the circle that follows the design on the book. You will probably have to use little pieces of clay on the back to make the two pieces together.

6. Bake following your clay’s instructions. 

7. Now is the time to paint if you chose white clay. (Skip if you didn’t.) 

8. Now you can put your glaze one. This may take up to three coats to get the shine that you want.

Be patient and don’t touch the glaze when wet on your piece. I find using a blow-dryer (with

heat) helps speed up the drying process. 

9. Super glue your pin onto the back on the mockingjay. 

10. And you’re done! You’re officially part of the Revolution!
