In the Spotlight: Dresses

Hello, lovelies!

Even though it's the middle of winter, I'm so ready for spring and summer to come, especially because in those months I can break out the skirts and dresses without having to layer on three pairs of leggings so I don't freeze.

Today's ItS post features some dresses that would be perfect for spring/summer, and a few that would probably work for colder weather too. Something I really love about dresses is that you can change the look of a dress with a few simple accessories. So if one day you want to go for an elegant look you can, but with the same dress you can also go for more of a casual look, which I love.

And also, I have a question. For future ItS posts, would you like me to feature not only fashion and hair, but make-up too? I'm no professional make-up artist, but if you'd like me to do a spotlight on make-up trends, I'd be happy to! What do you think?

In The Spotlight: Winter Clothes

Hello again! Winter is cold as always here, and staying warm is essential. As much as I love a good comfy sweatshirt, sometimes I feel like changing it up a little with some other kind of wintery clothes. I've gathered up some of the cutest winter outfits I've found.

Winter Recipe Poll Winner: Peppermint Chocolate Marshmallows

Hello! 

It's July :) How were your holidays? Good I hope. I finally got around to making the winning food product from our poll, and I really did do it this time unlike the fall one... whoopsies. If you were paying any attention, you may have noticed that the Three Broomstick's Butterbeer and the Chocolate Peppermint Marshmallows had tied with a vote of 4 each, and I really didn't want to make both, so I picked one. I picked the marshmallows. If you were dying to try some butterbeer and are now in hopeless dispair, I'll send you the recipe, so don't you fret on little bit. Same goes for any of the recipes. 

*Note* I actually did make the eggnog fudge for a Christmas party and it did not turn out. It was too sweet and did not taste like eggnog at all :(

Here goes nothing. 

Below is what I was trying to imitate:

Now obviously, mine don't look as showy or fancy, but just ask Sea.. I am no professional chef, so it's justified. I didn't feel like there needed to be any sticks in them because when the chocolate hardened it was easy enough to just pick them up and pop them right in!

If you want to know how to make them, I can tell you what the picture would since there was no written recipe. Thankfully, it's self-explanatory.

What you'll need: 

• 12 big marshmallows
• 3 candy canes
• About a 1/4 bag of chocolate chips (or 3oz). 

What you'll do:

• First melt the chocolate in bowl (I did it in the microwave, but I suppose you could also do it in a pan on the stove)
• Crush the candy canes in a food processor (make sure you get them small enough) then place them in a bowl
• Dip a marshmallow into the chocolate about halfway and immediately cover with candy canes
• Place on wax paper and wait for them to harden which won't take long
• Enjoy! 

Now for my thoughts on this creation. I honestly didn't like it that much. I think it was the candy canes that did it for me and I would have enjoyed just a plain chocolate covered marshmallow better than this embellished one! It's really easy and if you like candy canes, go for it and tell me how it turns out for you!

Winter Recipe Poll!

Hello everyone! I'm still very sorry about our last recipe thing that I promised to make, but this time, I promise I WILL get around to it since I'm done with musical, NaNo's over, and we have a little something called CHRISTMAS BREAK coming up.

Well, I need your help again to vote for the winter recipe that you want me to make, review, and share the instructions for.

Mr. Penguin Buddy Nails

Hey, ya'll. Sea here, with a fun nail art idea! Here it is:

Aww! The cutest thing ever, eh? I'll have more nail ideas coming soon, but for now, here's how we make our Mr. Penguin Buddies.

Whaddya Need?
For this project you will need:
White, black, orange/yellow, and any other nail polish color.

1. First, take any color that you'd like (except for white) and do a nice coat of polish on all of your nails. Make sure to do double-coats when working with a more watery type of nail polish, since that tends to be a bit thin. Let the polish dry.

2. Now, take your white polish and paint a large oval onto your nails almost up the the tops of your nails by the skin, (you can do all of them, or you can go every other like in the picture shown above) and let it dry.

3. Now the fun part! DECORATING! Whoop whoop. (: Alrighty, take your black nail polish and make two little dots near the top of the white ovals on all of the nails that you decided to penguin-ify.

4. Next, you'll need your yellow or orange polish. Take the polish and make two half moons next to each other, leaving a bit of space between, on the bottom of the white part of your nails. Those are the feet of your penguin. For the nose, put your brush sideways to make it sort of a sideways oval, and dab a bit of polish below the eyes to make its lovely little beak.

Once those beauties are dry, you'll have the most fab nails on the block! (: Enjoy your penguin-ified nails!
